Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu (2 Days/1 Night)

Exciting short trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu, On this short tour you will get to know two must-sees of the region Cusco: the Sacred Valley of the Incas and one of the 7 New Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu! First you will get to experience the Sacred Valley, a former very important habitat for the Incas.

It’s a cradle of culture, history and agricultural richness and a perfect place to learn about the inhabitants of the ancient Inca Empire.

The journey finally leads us to Machu Picchu, probably the most important sight in Peru in the heart of the mountains. There you will walk through narrow paths and between impressive stone walls and your knowledge about the Incas will get even more expanded during a guided tour.

The trips and excursions to the different destinations of this tour are managed with a guide and a small travel group with likeminded people you can share your experiences with.

Note: usually you take a train (from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes town) at 19hr, therefore we will it reconfirm once we’ll meet in our office a day before.

Day 1: Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes town

Our tour will start at 8hr, when we pick you up from your hotel and lead you by private transportation to the market of Pisac, the first stop on this trek (40 minutes drive).

Here you will find a large amount of original artisan work such as pottery, textile, paintings and a lot more. After this visit we'll walk up to the archeological center of Pisaq which we will visit for about an hour: to know about this impressive archeological remains.

Ollantaytambo gateWe'll continue our tour through the Sacred Valley going to the typical village of Urubamba (40 minutes drive) where we'll enjoy a delicious typical lunch.

After this we'll continue our journey to the archeological center of Ollantaytambo (30 minutes drive) where have been built some of the Inca's most impressive constructions.

Thereafter we'll take a train to Aguas Calientes town ( 2 hrs in train), where we will spent the night in hotel and also it’s optional you will enjoy in the pools of the hot mineral spring on your own.


Day 2: Aguas Calientes town – Machu Picchu - Cusco

In the morning at 5:30am, we will take the earliest bus shuttle up to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, having an unforgettable moment seeing the sunrise above the great citadel of Machu Picchu (2400m/7874f).

We will arrive at the citadel around 6:00 am. After a guided tour around the archeological site, including information about life and culture of the Incas, you will have enough time to enjoy Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu (2750m/9022f) on your own.

After visiting Wayna Picchu and all others, you will take a bus shuttle down to Aguas Calientes town, where your train will return at about 18hr (from Aguas Calientes town to Ollantaytambo) and thereafter a transfer will be waiting for you to continue by bus to Cusco.



  • Pick up at 06:30am from your hotel to Poroy or Ollanta train station.
  • Expedition train ticket from Poroy or Ollanta to Aguas Calientes.
  • Expedition train ticket return to Cusco or Ollanta and Private bus to Cusco.
  • Tourist bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu picchu ( 25-30 minutes ).
  • Admission entrance ticket for Machu-picchu sanctuary.
  • Guided tour in English (2 hours approximately) (2 hrs free time to explore in your own).
  • Tourist bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes.
  • Transfer from train station to your hostel.
  • Tip for guide -optional.

Not Include: 

  • Lunch available US$ 12 per person in Hostel Viajeros -Aguas Calientes.
  • Sanctuary Hotel restaurant US$45 for a lunch, even snacks are expensive or bring a snacks and drinks with you.

What to bring: 

  • You only need to carry a small day pack, with water to drink, camera and rain jacket or poncho / or change of weather gear, basic toiletries, hat for the sun , sunscream, insect repelent for mosquitoes and comfortable shoes or runners, some extra money for lunch, snacks and souvenirs.
  • Bring your original passport and your ISIC student card with you if you have booked as a student.
  • Please be ready for your transfer from your hotel 45 mins before the train departure so as not to delay the transfer of other passengers.
  • Remember you must take your bus down 1 hour before the departure time of your train.

  • Please bring your original passport.
